University

Student site

While surfing the net amongst many other things that were going on around me, I realised there is no student site that has its soul purpose to list events, host forums and pictures of them awesome ENSOC events. At present there is a few individual sites that the university club owns and runs, some of them host a few pictures and maybe a JavaScript poll. Almost all of them are poorly run, using static HTML. Is there a need for a student run, student site that can be used for organising events? I think so. I set out to find a few off shore examples and came across a prime example site that is run buy North Carolina Students. TheWolfWeb.com hosts its own events calendar, forums, photo hosting and many other services. This would be a very good example to model any student site off.

I'm not sure how far this idea should be taken but if anyone has any thoughts or would like to help me take this plan any further than leave a comment. This could easily end up in the too much work bin, but just as easily end up as a holiday project.

Methods to stop sleep taking over study

While sitting here studying for the exams that are so very close I was thinking about method to keep the "tireds" away. This all while thinking about what my dentist said to me this morning about keeping away from energy drinks while studying for my exams. I have in the last while, from time to time, been drinking energy drinks. Mostly to keep me awake during those long and boring lectures that seem to last forever. However I don't think that would be the best of ideas for exams. With all that sugar I would probably fall over and die. Which no one wants (I hope :P). Or would it be better to not study as much and sleep more so then the tired feeling doesn't kick in as hard. Its a hard one to know what to do but passably a balance of the lot works best.

All I can say at the moment is:

Mmmmmm Sour Skittles

Maths Break

Sitting here In the main library. Listing to music, doing all my maths tuts. Even the ones from the start of the year taht were done on time. I'm just thinking looking at the calendar that its only a little over a 2 weeks and I will be sitting down to do my final exam for the semester. So far uni life has been a new and interesting experience. It has been a lot busier than i expected. Epically compared to school! But it has on the other had been some of the most memorable times of my life. But all and all I have learnt alot.
